Debbie Weiss is a writer, author, and former attorney who had to reinvent herself after losing her husband George to cancer in 2013. She earned her MFA in creative writing at the tender young age of 56, and her writing career took off from there.

Debbie’s essays have been published in the NYTimes “Modern Love” column, HuffPost, Women’s Day, Good Housekeeping, Reader’s Digest, and more. Her book is titled “Available As Is: A Midlife Widow’s Search for Love,” which is about creating a new life after widowhood, dating at midlife, and the decrease in the quality of middle-aged men. Her book can help empower other women who find themselves alone at midlife, as well as provide hope that life will eventually get better.
